Rudston was established in 1948 and is one of the area's premier independent schools. It offers a high standard of academic achievement and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and after school care facilities. The majority of pupils go on to major independent secondaries and the school is noted for its musical activities, with the choir taking part in festivals and performances throughout the area. Drama is also strong in the school, culminating in Christmas and end of year productions.
